How to do Bhastrika Pranayama

  1. Sit in Vajarasana on the ground ( with your knees bent together and your heels under your glutes).

You can sit with your legs crossed if you have knee issues.

2. Make a loose fist (with your thumbs covering the other fingers) and place your fists near your shoulders. Keep your elbows close to your body.

3. Take a normal breath in and out. Then, for bhastrika take a deep forceful breath in while stretching your hands up. Open your fists as you go up, with your palms facing forward.

4. Breath out while pulling your abdomen in and bringing your hands down to your body with force. Close your palms back into fists while coming down.

5. Repeat this 20 times. Then relax with your palms on your knees and take normal breaths for 30 seconds. Repeat this cycle for two more rounds.
